An approved burglar alarm:

meets EN50131 or IS199 standard;
is installed by an intruder alarm company approved by the NSAI (National Standards Authority of Ireland), EQA Ireland, Management Systems Certification Ltd., SSAIB or CerticCS;
the installer holds a PSA (Private Security Authority) Licence.

If your alarm is approved or monitored, we will give you a discount on your premium in return your alarm must be installed and maintained in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and activated and working where there is nobody in the home. Otherwise you could pay a higher excess at claim stage.
